”Hallitus linjasi keskiviikkona iltakoulussaan, että tavoitteena on vaalihuoneistossa tapahtuvan sähköisen äänestyksen sijasta äänestäminen netissä. Sähköisen äänestämisen kehittämistä ei jatketa nykypohjalta. Jos nettiäänestämistä kokeillaan, se tapahtuu aikaisintaan vuoden 2016 kuntavaaleissa.
Ensin on joka tapauksessa ratkaistava muun muassa vaalisalaisuuden turvaamiseen liittyvät ongelmat.
Perinteisestä lippuäänestyksestä ei kuitenkaan luovuta, vaan se säilytetään vaihtoehtona. Oikeusministeri Tuija Brax (vihr.) piti ratkaistavia kysymyksiä ja otettavia riskejä melko isoina.
Norjan tulevaa kokeilua nettiäänestyksellä seurataan tarkoin. Sähköistä äänestämistä kokeiltiin vuoden 2008 kuntavaaleissa Karkkilassa, Kauniaisissa ja Vihdissä.
Vaalit jouduttiin viime syksynä uusimaan ongelmien takia. Hallitus päätyi nyt siihen, ettei kokeillusta mallista ole saatavissa sellaisia hyötyjä, jotka antaisivat aihetta jatkokehittelyyn.
Nettiäänestys sen sijaan voisi nostaa äänestysprosenttia.”

Valistunut arvaus on se, ettei vaalisalaisutta pystytä turvaamaan muulla tavalla kuin nykyisessä äänetysmenettelyssä.
Tämä höpinä nettiäänestyksestöä liittyy siihen kun, ei kehdata tunusta suoraan sähköisen äänestyksen möhläystä. Lisäksi kuin ohimennen oikeusministeri Tuija Brax välttyy valtakunnanoikeudelta, koska hän hyväksyi äänestysmallin, jossa kolme nministeriön virkamiestä voi murtaa vaalisalaisuuden, koska heillä on siihen vaadittavat sähköiset avaimet.
Siis selväkielellä. Äänestäjän henkilöllisyys voidaan yhdistää annettuun ääneen. Tällainen järjestelmä ei kestä mitään päivänvaloa, se on kaikkien lakien vastainen. Poliittinen oikeuskansleri ei ole huomaavinaan tätä ja on hiljaa. Ei korppi korpin silmäänokia, vaikka aihetta olisikin tämän kaikkien aikojen epäpätevimmän oikeusministerin kohdalla.

Nettiäänestys, pikemminkin jonkunlainen kansalaismielipiteen kuuleminen, sinänsä on ihan hyvä ajatus, kun otetaan tuloksia tarkastellessa esim 5 prosentin manipulointimahdollisuus huomioon. Vaaleissahan ei voi sallia yhtään manipulointia, siis äänestyslippua uurnan laitettaessa.
Toivottavasti ei nämä kokoukset ja konsultit tule kovin kalliiksi tällaisessa selvässä asiassa, jonka luulisi hoituvan myös virkatyönä kuulemisineen. Jouni Backman ei kai sentään enää ture kysymykseen, kai hallituksella sentään sen verran on itsesuojeluvaistoa.
